Environmental Compliance Audit
Environmental Compliance Audit
Description:
An environmental audit is a comprehensive assessment designed to assess an organization’s environmental compliance, identifying areas of non-compliance, and providing corrective actions for enhancing environmental performance.
To ensure compliance and self-regulation, the Government has introduced the requirement to carry out Environmental Audits in Section 33A, Environmental Quality Act (EQA) 1974 (Amendment 1996).
The primary objective is to assess the compliance status of industrial facilities and development projects that are subject to the Environmental Quality Act 1974 and to provide a systematic approach to ensuring compliance.

For organizations already obligated to carry out environmental audits as a condition stipulated within the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Report or DOE Licensing, the audit must be conducted proactively, without awaiting a formal directive from the DOE.
