Description:

ISO 9001:2015 is the international standard for a quality management system (QMS). To be certified to the standard, an organisation must comply to the requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 Standard. Certification of this standard shows an organisation’s ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements and demonstrates their commitment to continuous improvement.

The ISO 9001:2015 standard is useful for an organisation which:

  • needs to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, and
  • aims to enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system, including processes for improvement of the system and the assurance of conformity to customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
Main Components:

The ISO 9001:2015 specifies requirements for a quality management system for an organisation which incorporates a cycle of Plan-Do-Check-Act and Continual Improvement, elements which form the essence of having a quality management system in place. The management system encompasses operational activities such as i) Control of documents and records, ii) Control of non-confirming products, iii) Corrective and preventive actions (continual improvement) and iv) Internal audits. The certification is to be renewed every 3 years.
